~ Established in 2012, the Jason Motte Foundation provides care and comfort to those affected, either directly or indirectly, by cancers of all kinds.

~ The Foundation’s “Strike Out Cancer with Jason Motte” event is held each November in Memphis. The live and silent auctions benefit Wings Cancer Foundation of the West Clinic in honor of his grandfather, Lynn Doyle. In two years, the event has raised more than $100,000.

~ Jason created “K Cancer” T-shirts in 2013 to raise money for cancer research. He recruited one player from each MLB team to join the effort. To date, $85,000 has been raised.

~ He is involved with the “Homers for Health” and “K’s for Kids,” programs that allow fans to pledge money for each home run or strikeout by many players. More than $1,000,000 has been raised.

~ A contribution from the Foundation will underwrite the West Clinic’s first-ever community lung cancer screening test program.

~ Jason regularly visits cancer patients at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center, Children’s Hospital and Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, as well as St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Memphis.


In 2012, Jason Motte recorded the most saves in the National League with 42. He was a member of the St. Louis Cardinal’s World Series Championship team in 2011.
