In 2006, to
commemorate the 15th anniversary of the Branch Rickey Award, the Rotary Club
of Denver has chosen to award a first-ever Lifetime Community Service
Achievement Award to Tommy Lasorda of the the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Branch Rickey Award is presented annually by the Rotary Club of Denver. Proceeds from the event benefit Denver Kids, Inc., a preventative counseling and mentoring program for at-risk students in Denver Public Schools.
