COMMUNITY SERVICE:
Losing a kidney as an infant set the stage for Trevor Hoffman's community service endeavors as an adult. Since 1996, he has been deeply involved with the National Kidney Foundation and now Children's Hospital Nephrology Unit. He invites "Trevor's Kidney Kids" to Padre games where they sit in his personal dugout seats. In addition to kidney patients, he supports the local Children's Hospital with visits and fundraisers. When he is on the road with the Padres, he takes time out to visit Children's Hospitals. In 2005, he visited 14 hospitals across the country. To honor both his father's and father-in-law's military service, Trevor has visited all of the area military bases. He purchases hot dogs and sodas for all the Marine recruits who come to games. He has given thousands of game tickets to Marines over the years. Since 1995, he has donated $72,000 to the "Padres Scholars" program. Trevor is the national spokesperson for "Kids First in Sports," an organization that is dedicated to reintegrating sportsmanship into youth sports. Trevor and his wife Tracy have also supported the San Diego Family Justice Center through public service campaigns and have hosted fundraising events that raised more than $200,000.

BASEBALL CAREER:
In 2006, Trevor Hoffman converted 48 of 51 save opportunities to lead the National League for the second time in his career. He is approaching 500 career saves. In 2005, he finished second in the Cy Young Award voting.
