COMMUNITY SERVICE:
When Carl Crawford signed with the Devil Rays, he made a commitment to donate his time, talent and money to the Rays Baseball Foundation. He has become deeply involved in the Rays Field Renovation Program, lending financial support, as well as sharing his baseball skills with disadvantaged youth through clinics. Growing up in Houston, Carl still remembers the mind-set of a young man who idolized athletes. With this in mind, he is always aware of the impact he can have on kids, both personally and professionally. He is happy to share his baseball expertise whenever asked. Carl is involved in the current Rays renovation program at the West Tampa Little League. When completed in September, he will host a youth clinic at the field. In addition to his involvement in the Tampa Bay community, Carl has adopted a Little League team in his hometown of Houston. He is a willing participant in the Devil Rays community relations activities, including visiting children's hospitals and local Boys and Girls Clubs. Carl was named the Rays' 2006 MVP, as well as the winner of the 2006 Champions Award. The award is given to the player who best exemplifies the spirit of true professionalism both on and off the field.

BASEBALL CAREER:
Last season, Carl Crawford led the American League in steals (58) and triples (16). He led the Devil Rays in 11 offensive categories, including games, atbats, batting average, runs, hits, triples, bunts and steals. He set club records for multi-hit games and average with men in scoring position.
