COMMUNITY SERVICE:
For the past seven seasons, Mike Scioscia has co-chaired the 65 Roses Golf Classic to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. In 2004, he initiated the Sunkist Mike Scioscia Pro Players Golf Tournament to benefit the Amateur Baseball Development Group. He also hosts an annual youth baseball clinic in Thousand Oaks. He holds a coaches clinic each year for the Angels Gene Autry RBI League, a youth baseball program for the Boys and Girls Clubs in Orange County. Each holiday season, Mike signs autographs and reads books to children at the Angels Children's Holiday Party, as well as supporting troops through his involvement with "Operation Gratitude" that reaches U.S. Soldiers serving overseas. Mike was honored in 2001 by the Orange County Youth Sports Foundation as the "Sportsman-of-the-Year." He served as the Chairman of the American Heart Association's "Heart and Soul Walk" in 2000 and 2001. This June, he was the keynote speaker at the Orange County Make-A-Wish Foundation's "Wishmaker Luncheon." Mike has recorded public service announcements for the American Red Cross Blood Drive, Water Safety Campaign and California Office of Traffic Safety.

BASEBALL CAREER:
Mike Scioscia is in his seventh season as the Angels manager, compiling an impressive 520-452 record (.535). He has taken the Angels to the postseason three of the last four years. He played catcher for 15 Major League seasons.
The Branch Rickey Award is presented annually by the Rotary Club of Denver.
Proceeds from the event benefit Denver Kids, Inc., a preventative counseling
and mentoring program for at-risk students in Denver Public Schools.
