COMMUNITY SERVICE:
During the 2004 season, Chan Ho Park donated $100,000 to the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation. He co-sponsored a Habitat for Humanity House with $25,000 of this donation. The owner of the house is a single parent and a first time homeowner. Through his generosity, this family was able to realize “The American Dream” of home ownership. The remaining $75,000 will be used to build a youth ballpark in the Arlington area. Chan Ho is also well respected in his homeland of South Korea for his commitment to youth education and sports. During his career with the Los Angeles Dodgers, he was involved with the Southern California Korean Parent Association for the Developmentally Disabled.


BASEBALL CAREER:
Although Chan Ho Park missed over three months of the 2004 season with a back injury, he made 16 starts during the year, third hightest on the club. During his career, he has pitched almost 1,500 Major League innings, winning 97 games. His career ERA stands at 4.20. Chan Ho Park was a member of the National League All-Star Team in 2001.
The Branch Rickey Award is presented annually by the Rotary Club of Denver.
Proceeds from the event benefit Denver Kids, Inc., a preventative counseling
and mentoring program for at-risk students in Denver Public Schools.
