COMMUNITY SERVICE:
In 2001, Chipper established the Chipper Jones Family Foundation, funded entirely by Chipper and his family, to assist numerous children’s charities, youth organizations and other groups. He and the Foundation have written checks totaling more than $1,000,000 since inception. Some of the programs run by Chipper and his Foundation include: “Around the Horn/Field of Dreams,” donates money each year to build, repair and refurbish youth ballparks in the metro Atlanta and Pierson, FL areas. To date, the program has committed $300,000 to ballparks. In total, Chipper now has four complexes that bear his name. His “Take ‘Em Deep” program donates $100 for every home run Chipper hits to various charities in Florida and Georgia. As part of the Braves “Reach Out, Be Our Guest” program, Chipper purchased 25 season tickets for the 2005 season which are distributed to underprivileged kids. These youngsters receive special “Chipper Gang” t-shirts and have a chance to visit with him before the game. Annually since 2002, the Chipper Jones Celebrity Golf Invitational benefits Cystic Fibrosis, Camp Twin Lakes and Stetson University. More than $500,000 has been raised from the event in the past three years. The “Helping for the Holidays” program donates money to families in Florida to buy presents.

BASEBALL CAREER:
In his 12-year Major League career, Chipper Jones has played in almost 1,600 games, amassing a .304 batting average. He has had eight straight 100 RBI seasons, tying him for second most in National League history.
The Branch Rickey Award is presented annually by the Rotary Club of Denver.
Proceeds from the event benefit Denver Kids, Inc., a preventative counseling
and mentoring program for at-risk students in Denver Public Schools.
