COMMUNITY SERVICE:
Nicknamed “Jinks,” Geoff Jenkins is contributing 2,000 Brewers tickets to local youth baseball programs this year. In Phoenix, he donated baseball uniforms to youth programs. As spokesperson for Big Brothers/Big Sisters and the United Way, Geoff recorded public service announcements and spoke to numerous groups. Since its inception, he has been actively involved in the Garth Brooks “Touch’em All” Foundation. He makes regular visits to schools in the Milwaukee area as part of the Brewers Community Outreach programs. He is the Brewers’ representative for the CAP Cure’s Annual Home Run Challenge. In 2003, Geoff was honored with the Brewers’ Michael Harrison Award for community service. He appeared on ESPN’s “Up Close” with teammate Marquis Grissom in September 1999 and with teammate Richie Sexton in July 2001. Geoff names his father Jack as the person he respects most.

BASEBALL CAREER:
Geoff Jenkins was named to his first NL All-Star team in 2003, making a remarkable comeback from a season-ending ankle injury in 2002. He did not commit an error in the entire 2003 season. He owns the ninth highest lifetime batting average in franchise history. At Cordova Senior High in Rancho Cordova, CA, Geoff was an All-State selection in 1991 and 1992, where he was also a standout in football and basketball. At USC, he helped the Trojans reach the College World Series national title game. He was a finalist for the Golden Spikes Award. In 1995, Geoff was named PAC-10 Player of the Year and an All-American selection in both 1994 and 1995. He was also a member of Team USA.
The Branch Rickey Award is presented annually by the Rotary Club of Denver.
Proceeds from the event benefit Denver Kids, Inc., a preventative counseling
and mentoring program for at-risk students in Denver Public Schools.
