COMMUNITY SERVICE:
Tim Hudson regularly gives his time and talents to several communities. In the Oakland area, he attends the Monte Carlo Classic that benefits Special Olympics of Northern California. He plays in the Oakland A’s Community Fund Golf Classic, which is the organization’s largest fundraiser. As part of the Barnes & Noble Storytime program, Tim reads to children. Working with little leaguers in the A’s “Pitching PALS” program, he teaches pitching techniques. Tim signs autographs for the Easter Seals of the Bay Area “Disability Awareness Day.” He participates in the A’s annual FanFest to promote the importance of organ donation. Since 2002, he has been actively involved in the Muscle Team dinner to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association. In his hometown of Phenix City, Alabama, Tim hosts a baseball camp for children, with proceeds donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Tim’s charity golf tournament has raised more than $180,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation during the past two seasons. His third annual event is scheduled for June 2004. He also plays in the Pepsi All-Star Softball game to benefit Juvenile Diabetes. He is a teammate and financial contributor to the Garth Brooks “Touch’em All” Foundation. In 2003, his hometown held a dinner roast of Tim that raised more than $5,000 for the local Girls Club.

BASEBALL CAREER:
Tim Hudson’s 69 wins since the 2000 season is the second most in the ML. His 2.70 ERA in 2003 was second best in the AL. He finished 20-6 in 2000. Tim was a first team All-American at Auburn and tied for the NCAA lead in victories.
The Branch Rickey Award is presented annually by the Rotary Club of Denver.
Proceeds from the event benefit Denver Kids, Inc., a preventative counseling
and mentoring program for at-risk students in Denver Public Schools.
