Each year, the Branch Rickey Award celebrates the countless unselfish acts of community service performed by humanitarians in Major League Baseball.  They are true role models
for today’s youth.

Proceeds from the award banquet and silent auction benefit the many projects of the Denver Rotary Club Foundation, among them is Denver Kids, Inc. (DKI).

Founded in 1946 by The Rotary Club of Denver and Denver Public Schools, DKI is a preventive counseling and mentoring program for 1,000 high-risk students, grades K–12.

Through events such as the Branch Rickey Award, DKI will be able to continue providing the time, attention and caring that has repeatedly made the difference in the lives of the students they serve.

The Mission of the Denver Rotary Club Foundation is to participate actively in the diverse life of our community, locally, nationally and internationally, through the grants it makes each year.  The Foundation grants emphasize our belief in the promise and value of youth and education, affirming our commitment to the humanitarian goals of Rotary.  Other projects include our High School Achievement and Vocational Scholarship programs, college counseling program, Adopt-A-School, Scholastic Arts and World Community Service projects, to name a few.

The Rotary Club of Denver was named the 2008 Outstanding Service Organization by the National Philanthropy Day, presented to a service organization that has demonstrated outstanding commitment through financial support and the encouragement and motivation of others to take leadership roles in philanthropy and community involvement.

The Branch Rickey Award is presented annually by the Rotary Club of Denver. Proceeds from
the event benefit the many projects of the Denver Rotary Club Foundation, including Denver Kids, Inc.,
a preventative counseling and mentoring program for at-risk students in Denver Public Schools.
